A portal for inspiration and learning, True Mosaics Online is the virtual school of artist Laurel True and her True Mosaics Studio, founded over 25 years ago. Laurel firmly believes that we are all inherently creative, and that creative expression is vitally linked to well-being.
After nearly three decades creating architectural, public and community-based art and teaching students around the world, Laurel invites you to learn her best practices from the comfort of your own home or studio.
True Mosaics Online offers a variety of training opportunities. Perfect for those who want to dip their toe in, take their mosaic and art making skills to the next level, and/or move into creating larger work.
A beloved and engaging teacher, Laurel offers beginner-friendly workshops, continuing practice, and professional development classes.
Artists, teachers, and community builders who want to create permanent mosaics for architectural settings, public spaces or schools can learn everything they need to plan, design and execute their projects right here.
You'll also find courses, talks and educational presentations exploring different aspects of the creative process, and best technical practices for creating permanent projects.

About me...
I'm an artist, educator and community builder based in Portland, Oregon and New Orleans. I'm also a traveler and have been teaching in the US and in other parts of the world for nearly three decades. My work includes creating architectural, public and community-based projects.
I'm proud to have taught thousands of students, volunteers and project participants of all ages and skill levels, in communities near and far. I have seen first-hand the positive impact this has had on individuals and communities and it's a powerful thing.
Creative expression and the creative and co-creative process are so important for health and well-being. Art is a universal language and a bridge builder, both locally and globally.
I'm so grateful to be able to do the work that I do, and I look forward to meeting you!
